Refund policy

The short version: cook one recipe. If it doesn't hold up, email us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full. You keep the book.

We can offer that because we know what happens when you cook the salt and pepper chicken. But we'd rather be plain about how it works than bury it.

The 30-day cook-it guarantee

Buy the book, pick any recipe, and cook it. If it doesn't taste like the thing you'd have ordered, email hello@proteinfakeaways.com within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund the full amount you paid.

You don't need to prove anything. You don't need to send photographs or explain what went wrong, though if you tell us we'll use it to make the book better. The refund goes back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank.

You keep the PDF. Taking it back would be theatre — you've already downloaded it — so we don't pretend otherwise.

Your legal right to cancel, and why it's waived

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. For digital content downloaded immediately, that right ends once the download begins — but only if you have expressly agreed to that and acknowledged you're losing the right.

That's why you're asked to tick a box before completing your order. By ticking it you consent to immediate delivery of the book and accept that your 14-day cancellation right ends at that point.

Our 30-day guarantee sits on top of your statutory rights, not instead of them. It's longer than the statutory period and easier to use. Nothing on this page limits your legal rights where the product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If something is faulty

If the file won't open, is corrupted, or is missing content, tell us and we'll fix it or refund you — your choice. That's a statutory right and it isn't limited by the 30-day window above.

If your download link doesn't arrive

Check your junk folder first. If it's genuinely not there, email us with the address you used at checkout and we'll resend it. A missing email isn't a reason to lose your purchase — the link is permanent and you can re-download the book at any time.

Nothing ships

This is a digital book. There's no physical product, no postage, and nothing to return.

How to ask

Email hello@proteinfakeaways.com with the email address you used at checkout. That's the whole process. A human reads it and replies, usually the same day.
