About
Protein Fakeaways exists because of one answer, given twenty times over.
Before a single recipe was written, we asked twenty people one question: what are you actually sick of? We expected a spread of answers — no time, no money, no willpower, the usual list.
We got the same answer, nearly every time. Chicken and rice. Again.
Not "I have no discipline". Not "I need a stricter plan". Just: I am bored, and when I am bored at six o'clock with nothing planned, I order something. The delivery app is on the phone already, it knows what you had last time, and at 6:47pm on a Thursday your willpower is not what it was at breakfast.

So we made the boring bit unnecessary
The book is a hundred of Britain's favourite takeaway orders, rebuilt so you can cook them at home in a normal kitchen, in normal time, with ingredients from any supermarket. Smash burgers, katsu curry, doner kebabs, salt and pepper chicken, korma, proper fish and chips.
Every main clears 30g of protein per serving. That is a floor, not an average. Most land in about twenty minutes and cost somewhere between £2 and £4 a plate instead of twelve quid delivered.
Every recipe was cooked against the real thing. If it did not taste like the version you would have ordered, it got rebuilt or it got binned. The macros were never allowed to win an argument with the flavour — which is the mistake most "healthy takeaway" books make, and the reason most of them end up unopened after the second week.
What we are not
Not a diet. There are no syns, no points, no weigh-ins, nothing described as guilt-free, and nobody anywhere in these pages telling you that you have been bad. It is the food you were going to order anyway, cooked at home, with the protein already sorted and the numbers already printed at the top of the page so nothing has to be worked out at seven o'clock on a Wednesday.
Where the numbers come from
We publish our method rather than asking you to take it on trust. Protein and calories are calculated per weighed ingredient from standard UK nutritional data. Costs are based on the quantities used at mid-2026 supermarket prices, not whole packs. The delivered comparison is the typical app menu price before fees, which means the real gap is wider than the one we print.
The full explanation, including what we have deliberately not done, is on the how we count page.
Who we are
Protein Fakeaways UK is a trading name of Ondale Limited, a small independent publisher registered in England and Wales (company number 17153690), based in Manchester. We are new, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that the book is finished, the recipes have been cooked, the numbers have been worked out properly, and if a recipe does not hold up for you we will refund you and you keep the book.
Questions, corrections, or a takeaway order you think we have missed: hello@proteinfakeaways.com. A human reads it. Full company details are on the contact page.
